I think that now more than ever we need to try to find ways to shake things up (literally). It's interesting but I don't think I have ever really thought about whether I ask students questions that have a morally wrong answer. That is, a question like "did you do your homework?" means the student is "good" if they answer "yes" and "bad" if they answer "no". Read more from @DavidKButlerUoA

In the new Ontario math curriculum, mental math is explicit (which is good) but some people may think that that means kids need to memorize stuff (which is bad). In this video @JamesTanton gives us some ways to make internalizing the multiplication table more than just a memorization exercise.
