We released two episodes of OAME talks within the last week. The first was our normal monthly episode featuring @AlexOverwijk and @PaiMath. They were talking about their upcoming webinar "Manage Flow and Let Go!" about some of the logistics of the Thinking Classroom. I created two related @desmos activities about multiplication. The first is one is for students to investigate the idea of multiplying two digit numbers by using an area model and to eventually take a question like 48x62 and essentially multiply (40 + 8)x(60x2) instead. The second one expands on this idea to model a single decimal number by another single decimal number. First in the form 1.3x1.8 and then moving to questions like 3.5x7.2.
