You know, sometimes you have seen something your whole life and not really noticed it and then someone comes along to point directly at it and you think "yup, that is cool"

I think we may all have seen this development of the area of a circle but it is nice to have a concise play by play like the one given in this @MathisVisual post.

More from @Howie_Hua here in this video where he talks about why we don't need common denominators when we multiply fractions. Often students do this because they had it hammered into their heads with adding fractions. It's not wrong to do but it's not necessary. That being said, it's actually helpful to get common denominators when dividing fractions

A lot of @Howie_Hua this week but, hey, when the stuff is good, it's good. I could see doing this with terms related to each grade level or course.

As one of the organizers of the OAME 2022 conference I'm excited about our slate of keynote and featured speakers. On the latest @OAMEtalks podcast they all answer the question "What did you do while online that you will continue to do as we move to more face to face?". Have a listen and then register for the conference. More info here http://oame2022.ca/

A tough @OpenMiddle problem for solving systems of equations. Though I wonder if approaching this from a graphical perspective might make it easier.

I did some work showing something similar in this @Desmos activity but this video does a nice job of explaining why you can't use SSA (in general).

A worked example is the bread and butter of a math teacher and it has been for years. Of course, if you are heavy into the  Thinking Classroom then you might not think so anymore but I think that this post about how to make kids think while still showing worked examples starts to create a bridge between a traditional and a thinking classroom.

I like the idea of visually seeing the effects of the positions of the points on the standard deviation and this interactive from @TimBrzezinski does that trick

I love this activity that combines some of the mechanics of Pascal's triangle and adding polynomials. I could see it used for other polynomial related operations too.
