I always appreciate the work that @DavidButlerUoA does, especially when he puts it all together and shares. In this case, constructions using 2 sides of a ruler. I don't know that this fits into any particular curriculum and that's the beauty of it. It starts with some introductory constructions and quickly ramps up.

#MathSky Finally, I've updated the first post in the series with a link to the playlist of videos and an index of links to every individual construction in all eight posts. Now you (and I) can find anything I've written about two-sided ruler constructions anytime. davidkbutler.xyz/2026/06/25/t...

Another one about constructions. Though this isn't about how to actually do constructions (you might like my videos on that), it's a nice little set of questions to make specific constructions and then to check them electronically with this site.

Mixed media learning (sounds good). Students complete construction exercises using a pencil, ruler and compasses, then measure a length on their construction. They type it online, which awards the mark if within a given tolerance. www.transum.org/Intro/?ID=403 #mathsresources #mathstoday

I agree. The community on Twitter was great. It was some of the best self directed PD I had experienced. Plus I "met" so many new like minded people (sometimes even in person). It is unfortunate that that platform waned in that capacity. I still post there and look from time to time but I love how the community on Bluesky, although small, is starting to fill that hole.

Why am I on Bluesky? Because we used to have #mtbos on twitter. Then Twitter turned into X which turned into a steaming pile of vitriol... and I had to leave. A decent amount of us landed here, and even though it's not the same, it's better than nothing.
