Despite tomorrow being Pi Day, I am going to keep this week's links short and sweet with a focus on the coronavirus starting with this very detailed summary of a lot of the statistics to date. There are some great graphs here and they really get into the weeds and details. I particularly like the graph of how the infections have changed in Hubei province now that they have shut the place down (and perhaps why they are having such a hard time in Italy - because they didn't)

As always @MonaChalabi has some interesting representations of data. The one here that I like seems so simple but it is the idea that the true number of corona virus infections is better predicted by the death rate.

One way to estimate the real # of cases is to take three factors:

- People who die got sick about 17 days earlier
- The number of cases of coronavirus doubles roughly every 6 days
- Mortality rates (which vary from country to country - around 1-5%)
