Lots of stuff this week to support the newly released Grade 9 Math curriculum. Firstly a new (to me) resource BHNMath that has all sorts of resources for Ontario secondary school students, parents and teachers. For example, there are a lot of references to story telling in the new grade 9 curriculum and so here is a resource for topic ideas for those expectations. Thanks to @RobinMath3 for pointing this resource out.

I've begun creating a list of some "Tell a Story" topic ideas for #MTH1W. I'll keep adding topics as I think of them. Suggestions are very welcome! The more cultures/contexts, the better!https://t.co/161ZQOPOtn pic.twitter.com/gEmnXIOIci

It seems that @HTheijsmeijer has been working hard coming up with resources for specific expectations for the new Grade 9 course connecting to the cultural context and she's sharing them and asking for feedback to make them better. Check them out here

Another teacher resource for #MTH1W - this time for the Golden Ratio in various cultures, which could fit well with B1.3 (use patterns and number relationships to explain density/infinity/limit...)

Here's a great @OpenMiddle interactive for sum of angles in a triangleThe 8th (and final) #mth1wCodingChallenge is posted. This week's focus is creating animations in Scratch to tell stories. Great for the SEL and story telling expectations.

Wondering if this @openmiddle problem by @aa_henderson can help Ss discover the relationship FIRST vs. being a problem to work through afterwards. 🤔 With 192 unique solutions, I’m hoping “yes”. 🙂 https://t.co/N6KQgOSR0u @geogebra @robertkaplinsky #MTBoS #ITeachMath #mathchat pic.twitter.com/eUyHhOz4Z5
