My piece "How to read the news like a mathematician" is in today's Observer. https://t.co/UITPAKKmem Fairly confident there's something for everyone to get cross about in there, but enjoy anyway!

This is a pretty cool geometry problem. Though I'm not sure how many students may get it without some hints, I think it's a great way to show how amazing geometry could beGiving the MathsPad Y7 Intro to Algebra a whirl.

Cup A contains 100 mL of juice. Cup B is empty.
— James Tanton (@jamestanton) March 11, 2023
I move 10% of the juice of cup A into cup B, and the 10% of the contents of cup B back into A. That leaves 91 mL in cup A.
What happens if I keep repeating this 2-step process? Will I empty cup A? Will amount of juice in A stablise? pic.twitter.com/9OAQ5vZY4U
