Math Links for Week Ending Oct. 12th, 2018

At our board, we have been doing a lot of work on getting kids to talk more and re framing teacher questioning. That's why this Tweet from @MrsSasser offers a nice tweak to how you ask your students if they have any questions. You can hear about how this Tweet got over 14 million views on the 10 Minute Teacher podcast from @coolcatteacher. Listen at the link below and check out a lot more math based podcasts at the tab above.

Spoiler alert, they used Fourier Transforms (combining functions on steroids). And while you are there check out the other episodes from this podcast which is all about numbers. This is a neat site from @MrBartonMaths called Maths Venns. The idea is that students are given a prompt and some criteria to fill in on a Venn Diagram. There are topics from number sense to functions to data management. You could probably find something for just about any grade level. I could see using this as a prompt on a VNPS. Take a look.
