This just proves that even though the concept of perimeter may be relatively straightforward, there are definitely problems you can ask that turn perimeter into a thinking problem. Definitely look at the comment section for some sample solutions and other resources.

I think that the thing I like the most about the "Same & Different" strategy is that regardless of a student's ability, they can usually notice something and participate. Even if it is of a non mathematical nature, that engagement is worth the price of admission. Plus there are examples here that you could find something for just about any high school math class

I'm not going to lie, it never occured to me that being able to "break" an algebra tile was a thing I might desire to do. But having virtual tiles means it totally is something you can do with the right tool and it seems Polypad is that tool

We asked the featured and keynote speakers for the upcoming #OAME2023 conference, what they remember their own teachers doing that they either do now as a teacher or don't do now as a teacher. I think there were some obvious ones in the don't do category (eg timed tests) but it's always interesting to hear what innovative ideas that were on the "continue to do" side
