We just did some PD at my school board about ChatGPT. There are some people who are uneasy about it and others who embrace it. @DDMeyer has done some work in looking at what it can do for math and that's fine but the thing that intrigued me was the comment that reminded us that students, when asking questions, don't do a very good job of articulating themselves and so if they were trying to formulate a question to ask ChatGPT, it may not be able to figure out what they're asking. Anyway. Check out his post and by all means, check out the comments.

Yup - this is a huge chasm for AI to cross. "... the most important distinction between AI and a human teacher is that students don’t ask complete and intelligible questions all the time." A commenter on my recent newsletter.https://t.co/qKAykDDxrF

Lots of creativity emerged as they tried to solve a few systems as necessary to prove their intersection.#MTBoS #iteachmath

When you want kids to practice something that might be tedious, then maybe infuse a puzzle with it. Like this one dealing with Pythagorean Theorem from @JamesTanton.

Really appreciate the added footage of how you came up with the puzzle.
